Haywards Heath Town Football Club is delighted to announce Finley’s Touch as our chosen charity for the 2026/27 season.
As a football club at the heart of the local community, we wanted to support a charity with strong local connections that is making a genuine difference to children and families during incredibly difficult times.
Finley’s Touch is a Haywards Heath-based charity supporting children with cancer and their families across the South East of England.
Finley’s Story
Finley’s Touch was established in memory of Finley Edward Relf, the son of Ben and Nicky Relf.
Finley was diagnosed with JMML (juvenile myelomonocytic leukaemia), a very rare form of childhood leukaemia. During his treatment, Finley underwent three stem cell transplants.
Despite the incredible care he received and the courage he showed throughout his treatment, Finley sadly passed away on 6 December 2021 at just eight years old.
His family subsequently created Finley’s Touch, turning their grief into something that could bring what they describe as “fun, happiness and hope” to other children and families facing cancer.
Making a Difference to Families
Finley’s Touch provides practical and financial support designed to make life a little easier for families going through childhood cancer treatment.
Its work includes providing financial grants, specially created Hospital Survival Bags to help children and parents during lengthy hospital stays, and National Trust memberships, giving families opportunities to spend valuable time together away from hospitals and treatment.
The impact has already been considerable. Earlier this year, the charity reported that it had issued more than £231,000 in grants, distributed 411 Hospital Survival Bags and provided 331 National Trust memberships.
And that support continues to grow. Recent figures reported in September 2026 indicate Finley’s Touch has now provided more than 500 Hospital Survival Bags, hundreds of grants and bereavement grants worth almost £300,000, as well as more than 400 National Trust memberships.
Our Club, Our Community
For Haywards Heath Town, being a community football club means much more than what happens on the pitch.
Throughout the 2026/27 season, we want to use the platform of the football club to help raise funds, increase awareness and introduce more people to the incredible work being carried out by Finley’s Touch.
Supporters will see Finley’s Touch represented around the club during the season, while we will also be working together on fundraising activities and events.
Every donation, fundraiser and conversation helps the charity continue supporting families at a time when they need it most.
We hope our supporters, players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and everyone associated with Haywards Heath Town will get behind our chosen charity throughout the season.
Together, we can help Finley’s Touch continue spreading fun, happiness and hope in Finley’s memory.
