Heath kicked off their 2025-26 SCFL Premier Division season in impressive fashion, securing a convincing 4-1 victory over Seaford Town at the HSEnergy Group Stadium. After a disappointing FA Cup defeat to Ashford United, the hosts were eager to make a statement and bounce back with a strong performance, and they delivered.
The match started with Heath showing early intensity, controlling the ball and looking to create chances, but it was Seaford who found themselves in the referee’s book first, with Josh Wright receiving a yellow card in the 7th minute for denying Nathan Stroomberg-Clarke’s kick.
In the 19th minute, after a Heath corner was cleared, Seaford looked to counter. However, Kyle Sim made a crucial recovery challenge, preventing any danger and keeping the score level.
Heath eventually broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark. Harry Shooman played a clever one-two with Billy Fuller, reaching the byline and delivering a low cross for Mark Goldson to finish calmly past Seaford goalkeeper Wester Young.
Seaford responded just before the break, taking advantage of a gap in the Heath defence. A lofted ball found Josh Wright, who powered through to equalize, making it 1-1 at the halftime whistle.
Heath came out flying after the restart, and regained the lead in the 54th minute. Mark Goldson, who had scored earlier, turned provider as he stormed down the right wing and drilled in a perfect ball for Harry Shooman, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
Just a minute later, Heath extended their lead further. Goldson, once again, broke through Seaford’s defense and calmly slotted the ball past Young to make it 3-1 and giving him a shot at a hattrick.
Heath made changes in the 60th minute, with Charlie Weller replacing Charlie Towning and Charlie Meehan coming on for Bolton in the 64th minute.
Seaford had a golden opportunity to get back into the game in the 71st minute when they were awarded a penalty. Hayden Beaconsfield stepped up to take the spot-kick, but Stroomberg-Clarke made a crucial save, maintaining Heath’s two-goal advantage.
Seaford struggled to regain momentum, and Heath sealed the victory in the 76th minute. A low ball from Charlie Meehan found its way to Alex Saunders, who turned it into the back of his own net, making it 4-1.
With ten minutes to go, Heath made their final substitution as Tom Hearn replaced Ryan Warwick, and the match ended with a well-deserved 4-1 win for the hosts.
Heath’s dominant second-half performance secured all three points as they made a strong start to the new season. The win gives Heath a strong platform to build on as they look ahead to their next match, an away encounter against Midhurst & Easebourne FC.
