Crows take all three points
It was another away trip for Heath as they travelled to table-topping Crowborough Athletic on Saturday. Both teams recently stuffed a loss close to their club, Tony Sim of the Heath, and John Croft of Crowborough and a perfectly observed minute silence took place before the match.
The most notable moment of the early stages of the match came from Adrian Britton, his forward run forcing a Crowborough man into the referee’s book after hacking the Blues midfielder to the floor. The Heath took the lead in the 33rd minute, Cameron Dobell tucking the ball into the bottom corner following Adrian Britton’s pass, the Crows goalkeeper with no chance of saving such a well-placed finish.
The visiting Bluebells led at the interval but failed to hold onto their lead, Crowborough starting the half strongly and equalizing in the 58th minute. The Heath nearly had an instant reply, Emmanuel Abudiore’s cross reaching the back post where Hayden Skerry awaited its arrival, his header rattling the bar and leaving the scores level. The game entered its final ten minutes and the hosts were given a chance to lead after a foul in the box. And despite Alfie Jones’ superb record from penalties, and guessing the right direction, the Crows pulled ahead. A total of eight minutes were added as additional time, but the Crows saw the game out to its conclusion. The hosts taking all three points at the Community Stadium and adding a second defeat in a row to the Heath’s league record.
