Haywards Heath Town return to Southern Combination Premier Division action on Wednesday evening as we travel to The Polegrove to face Bexhill United.
The Bluebells head into the game looking to continue an excellent start to the league campaign. Heath currently sit second in the table with 16 points from six matches, having won five and drawn one, scoring 13 goals and conceding just four.
Our most recent outing saw us produce an impressive performance in the Sussex Senior Cup, running out 6–1 winners away at Crawley Down Gatwick, and attention now turns back to the league as we look to maintain our unbeaten start.
THE OPPOSITION
Bexhill have also made a competitive start to the season and currently sit 10th, taking 10 points from their opening six league fixtures with three wins, one draw and two defeats.
Their league results have included an impressive 2–0 victory away at Midhurst & Easebourne, while their only home league fixture so far ended in a 2–2 draw against Roffey.
They come into Wednesday’s match having been knocked out of the FA Vase at the weekend following a 2–1 defeat at Tooting Bec, having also narrowly lost 1–0 to Hassocks in the Sussex Senior Cup.
There is also plenty of recent history between the sides. Bexhill were one of the teams to get the better of Heath last season, winning a dramatic 4–3 game at Haywards Heath in February, so we know there can be no complacency heading to The Polegrove.

Manager Kevin Green will be looking for his side to carry their recent momentum into another important league fixture.
With five wins from the opening six league games and just four goals conceded, Heath have established a strong platform in the opening weeks of the campaign. Wednesday represents another difficult test against a Bexhill side capable of causing problems and picking up results against the division’s stronger teams.
