The board of Haywards Heath Town FC are delighted to announce that last week we were given planning permission to refurbish the Pilgrim Huts at Hanbury Park Stadium.
The Pilgrim Huts are located between the 3G and the Roy Hatt Family Stand, sponsored by Vita Risk Solutions. The plans include the demolition of the existing garage, and repurposing the space as a cafe area for matchday hospitality and refreshments. This will replace the now almost derelict burger van located next to the clubhouse.
The club has already secured £12,239.24 from Mid Sussex Council, as well as £98,903 from the Football Foundation towards the redevelopment, and the club would like to place on record their thanks to both Mid Sussex Council & the Football Foundation for their support.
Club Chairman Steve Isherwood said “ The redevelopment of this facility is central not only to our match day experience but also compliments and facilitates the longer term plans for the club. Despite the bizarre opposition to this from certain quarters, we are delighted to see that the local council have seen things for what they are, making the obvious and sensible decision to pass our application along with our secondary application which firms up both retrospective and future plans, allowing us to best serve the local community.”
The club will be commencing works on the project shortly. For any queries relating to the Pilgrim Hut please email commercial@hhtfc.co.uk
